TPS Spotlight: Rebekkah Stoeckler

Rebekkah Stoeckler is a riverboat pilot and a Lieutenant in the Navy Reserve. Her unconventional career often takes her away from home, usually about two-thirds of the year. While she serves as a member of our military forces, she also serves in a different capacity — as a military spouse. This gives her unique perspectives and insights into this diverse community.

While she loves her husband and the military lifestyle, Rebekkah also has lofty career goals and aspirations. The challenges, however, of balancing those aspirations and a military family lifestyle are not unknown as Rebekkah lives in Washington state and works on the Mississippi River. Like many military spouses, she is looking to expand the scope of her career and looking for growth. For Rebekkah, that involves attending law school as she takes on the regulatory side of her maritime experience. Although prepared to live apart while she attends law school, there’s always the concern that her new career trajectory will not blossom in the military lifestyle. That being said, we here at TPS believe in Rebekkah’s ability to accomplish great things and make an impact, and we look forward to watching her grow. Rebekkah Stoeckler is The Paradigm Switch!

“I know that I cannot be the only military spouse with an unconventional career. I know for sure that I am not the only military spouse that wants to have a fruitful, fulfilling career. I hope that my past experiences and the experiences that I continue to gain can help other military spouses as well.”
