I have a complicated relationship with money and anything perceived as “fancy”. For years I didn’t feel deserving of lavish gifts, expensive treats, extravagance of any kind. I’m frugal by nature. Gifts are not my love language. But he knew that from the start and instead showered me with the acts of service I crave.
