Don’t See Me

I hope you don’t recognize me.
My face is no longer distorted
and I am more open in my eyes
and my smile.

When you see me,
I hope I am a stranger to you.

I’ll walk by with a glint in my eye,
and no care for you
and the world you represent
to a past version of someone
I used to know.
