Tips and Tricks I’ve learned

I think most people know that a lot of the lakes in Washington State have stocked Rainbow Trout and often times Kokanee as well. But some lakes also have Cutthroat Trout, three different species, in fact.

Washington State has two native species of Cutthroat Trout, Coastal Cutthroat and Westslope Cutthroat, as well as one non-native species, Lahontan Cutthroats. Westslope and Lahontan Cuttthroats are found in Eastern Washington, whereas Coastal Cutthroat (also called Sea Run or Resident Cutthroat) are found in Western Washington. Lahontan Cutthroat are only in five lakes in Washington State which include Lake Lenore (the most famous lake), Lake Grimes, Sprague Lake, Albright Lake, and Blue Lake (Okanogan County).
