Should Articles Written About Medium, the Platform, Be Exempt From Payment
Writers, you still don’t get it.
I haven’t spent much time reading Medium in the last few months because my time and attention have been diverted toward other online sources of revenue. I’ll be writing about that soon.
Whatever I give my attention to grows — this law is the same for every one.
Background: I’ve been writing on Medium for about three years and have done well, improved my writing skills, gained followers and admirers, and made good money.
I read a great article (not on Medium) about Ev stepping down and Tony, of Coach.me fame, stepping in as CEO. Change is good. Everything Ev tried to make the site better…didn’t.
Somehow — who are we kidding, the algo is the culprit — I’ve been fed a lot of articles written about meta articles (posts written about Medium, the social media platform) and whether meta posts should continue to receive payment. (I think Tony asked for suggestions somewhere, I stopped keeping up with the changes around here a while ago)
