Life rhymes with Death

The lost porcupines

In a forest full of pines

Orphaned, abandoned, unwanted, alone
They grow up in a vast forest full of pines
On the west side of the lake is their zone
They call themselves “The lost Porcupines”.

They are all broken, yet they are fearless
Their strength is not in their big numbers
By loss and sadness, they have turned tearless
By unity and bravery, survived many summers.

There is a cold night though of remembrance
One sad evening where crying is encouraged
For all that’s lost, for their families’ severance
For all those lessons of gratitude and courage.

By that sundown, they all gather by the lake
As tributes to their parents they hold flowers
Throwing them in the water, then they make
A wish for nothing more than peaceful hours.

Strong and peaceful are “The Lost Porcupines”.
Stronger together, in peace among each other.
Their stories many, with losses and with gains.
Stick with them and with our travel, as Life and Death’s rhymes unravel.
