Woman Financially Punished For Gluten Intolerance at Local Sandwich Shop
It was her kid that wanted to go there, and she gave in. She thought she could get her sandwich without bread. Simple as that.
She did not want a salad. No bowl of lettuce or spinach or any of the other veggies. No salad dressing. Certainly no croutons on the side.
I don’t want a salad, she said to the first sandwich artist. He started her off with a side of chicken.
She wanted more. A few veggies, yes, but no more than what would normally go on a sandwich. She made it clear, “just put it on the paper, one green pepper, a slice of tomato, maybe a little lettuce.” The sandwich artist was confused, unable to think outside the bun.
“You want a salad”
She had told the first artist, “No salad,” a salad costs $2 more. Should she be punished just for opting out of the bread?
