Welcome to Episode 1 of the Passion People Project. As part of today’s episode, I caught up with Swathi Nair of Fyrkee.

This project really started off was because my volunteer stint in Mumbai was not panning out. Out of sheer frustration, I put out a message asking for people who think their stories are inspiring and are doing something different.

One of the folks who reached out to me was Swathi and since the moment we spoke, the conversation just flowed. I just knew in my gut that I had to interview her.

“I have a habit of reviewing my day, after I came back from work, the satisfaction that I craved was deeply lacking and that is what led me to start Fyrkee.”

How many of us have had that familiar uneasy feeling?

How many have done something about it?

The moment she dug deeper, remembering her flair for art she started customizing shoes on the insistence of a friend and now that has grown into a budding business.

In a few weeks, she had even started with Wall Art, went on to teach art to underprivileged kids and feels that she is happy not as per the norms of society but her own yard stick for happiness.!

“When you are with your fixed set of friends, you have a choice. You are only with people with whom you strike a chord. That limits you to your own set of beliefs and perceptions.”

This is what Swathi had to say about how she felt after meeting people from different walks of life and that had a huge impact on expanding her world view.

We discussed everything from how she overcame her fear, how she started off and what advice she has for people who want to do what they want.

Listen to my interview with Swathi below!

Here is a glimpse of the work that Swathi does.
