After a long draggy day, I tuned into the 20th episode to get some insights that Sujatha had shared so that I can write them down for this blog post.

Tuning in, I realized the kind of energy that was brought to the table by her.

“Being raised in an orthodox family with strict behavioural codes and studying in a college like Mount Carmel showcases how diverse my upbringing was. I used to rush into the bathroom as soon as I got to college and change into trendy clothes and make-up and run to catch the nearest morning show when we didn’t feel like going to college.”

Nope, she isn’t a teenager who goes to college. The quote above was her recollection of life 40 years back in Bangalore where she grew up. Sujatha tells people that she is 60 years young and that her life has just begun.

She started making efforts towards her passion after her daughter had grown up and she began to have some spare time. She studied and got her Masters in Psychology, took up counselling for adolescents and it was then that her love for the stage began to blossom.

Eventually she would audition and perform in a dance show, the Vagina Monologues in 2015 and now she runs a theatre group where she advocates social change using the stage.

To call our conversation an enlightening one would be a HUGE understatement. Tune in and find out!
