On Friday, 22 November 2024, during an ultrasound, I learned I had a
huge cyst in my belly, coming from an ovary. This is my diary of the
events that followed that discovery.

Discovering the ultrasound report

It was during the afternoon that I remembered I could see my medical file at the hospital, because of my visits to the ENT department. I logged in, and after several clicks, I discovered the referral from the GP to the gynecology department.

But not only that. I also discovered the shortened report of the ultrasound.

There is a large cyst in the abdomen with a size of 22 x 10,2 x 18 cm. Volume is more than 2 l. In this cyst several small wall-adherent cysts. Deviation is most likely from one of the adnexa. No free fluid. No hydronephrosis. Normal kidney length. No lymphadenopathy visible. In the liver several small cysts…
