This was my first day back at work after being off for three weeks, and I went into the office, even though technically it was a work-from-home day for me. I informed the team of my ‘condition’, and together with my closest colleagues, we made a plan to prepare for my lengthy upcoming absence. Just as important, I went to HR to let them know about the situation.
In the afternoon, I called the doctor’s assistant for the results of the blood work done earlier this week. The good news was that I tested negative for the helicopter pylori bacteria. The assistant said all results were fine, but I specifically asked her to share the values of my kidneys and liver. Those were also tested eight months earlier, at the beginning of April 2024.
