Life is all about good times and bad. We enjoy the good ones, but the difficult ones seem to knock us off our feet.

Especially when it’s about our health. We try to make sense of it, try to understand, and many of us do so by writing.

Why The Patient’s Voice?

We are and have been dealing with health issues in our family for quite some time now, ever since September 2016. It was then that my husband first started having problems with his stump — he’s an amputee.

Shortly after, my mom received the diagnosis of lung cancer and passed away less than six months later. My son had (and still has) severe mental health problems, then my husband had a stroke, and they discovered he has metastasized thyroid cancer. The stress started getting to me, and whether it’s because of that or it would’ve happened anyway, I am also having some health issues.

To make sense of anything in my life, including things related to health, I write. I research, and I write. Before and after I’ve seen a health…
