Free upgrade to Windows 10 is still is available from Microsoft
If you have an original version of Windows 7, 8 don’t let go of this Golden opportunity.

Hare Krishna! Praise the Lord! I just couldn’t believe the way the update went today. I just had to give it time (be prepared to give it a couple of hours)and viola! your PC will be running the latest version of Windows 10 fully updated for free! The only requisite, you MUST have an original version of Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 on your PC or laptop. The transition will be so seamless you won’t believe it. All your programs will be retained, even your desktop will remain unchanged and unaffected. This is the first time I have done such an elegant upgrade or installation.
To upgrade from your original version of Windows 7 or Windows 8 for free follow these instructions.
- Open your Internet browser and head to the link at the bottom of this post that reads Download Windows 10.
- Scroll down the page till you get to the Create Windows 10 installation media section.
- Click on Download tool now. The MediaCreationTool2004.exe file is downloaded to your computer.
- Locate the downloaded file and run it. On the Google Chrome browser you can run it off the page as the link to the downloaded file can be found at the bottom left corner of the browser’s window. Once run, the program prompts if you need to update the PC or create a separate bootable disk or flash drive.
- Click “Update this PC now” provided it is the PC or Laptop that has the genuine older version of Windows. By default Windows will retain all older programs and files on your computer. When prompted for the same just accept it and proceed. Even your PC name, login id and password to Windows are retained.
As I wrote earlier give the process a couple of hours and so make sure your PC or Laptop has sufficient power and backup if there is a power failure. Be patient and your PC or Laptop is upgraded and updated to the latest version of Windows 10 leaving all your programs and desktop as they were before. Windows inserts a fresh valid license and therefore you don’t even need to enter your old Product ID to activate the product. Great job Microsoft!
I did find my audio missing and for which you need to download the audio driver for Windows 10. My desktop has an Asus mobo and I had to download Realtek’s Audio Driver for Windows 10 from Asus’s website for the particular mother board. Had to tweak with the software a bit to get the audio out of the front jack of my system. Otherwise everything else went perfectly fine.
