Did it on 12'th April, 2024. For model 82H801L3IN

Lenovo 82H801L3IN

This is a recent update from Lenovo, released on March 18'th and will be well worth your time if you can update your laptop. I just moved back to Google Chrome (Duh!) on my Windows computer and I am glad I did the BIOS update too. Bios Updates keep your computers updated so that you can do away with several hardware issues that may crop up from time to time. My USB ports wouldn’t work one fine day and only the previous BIOS Update brought them back to life.

Just so that you are warned. Do not do the BIOS update if you don’t feel confident (though it is a simple process). Use a Techie if needed.

Before performing the update do check the model of your laptop. This is cruical.

To perform the BIOS update ensure that the battery on your laptop is at least 50% full just to ensure that you have sufficient power. The update itself takes very little time but in the case of an eventuality you’ll need the power and also ensure your laptop is connected to a power source.

Ensure that the Lenovo Vantage app on the laptop is installed. It also opens up when the laptop boots up (unless it has been removed from the Start up) and so you could do an update check as soon as the laptop switches “on” (you don’t want to do this everyday though).

Have patience and do not panic. You will see the following screens on your laptop as it boots up and updates the BIOS.

Wait for a minute or less for your laptop to boot. Feel like “Brand New” afterwards.

Update — 8'th October, 2024. Did yet another BIOS update today and it went without a hitch! Thank God!
