Have you chosen a foreign-to-you land to call home? The Peregrine Journal is looking for writers to share authentic experiences of what it’s like to live long-term in a land they weren’t born into.

What we are looking for…

This pub is not a travel blog about one-week vacations to Europe or short-term travel experiences. Other Medium pubs already cover this niche well (and we don’t want to steal their thunder 😁).

We want to know what it’s like to submerge yourself into a different culture and live day to day rubbing shoulders with the locals. Tell us about those conversations with the bread shop vendor, the out-of-the-way places you found, any local traditions/customs you’ve discovered/adopted, etc.

For example…

  • How is your native culture similar or different? Did you experience culture shock?
  • What have you learned about yourself, others, and/or our shared human experience?
