December 21, 2019|Think about it…

I am currently reading the book “Steve Jobs”. The book is amazingly inspiring book that will make anyone want to drop their day Job to pursue their deepest dream. I personally am inspired by Steve Jobs because of his determination and perfectionistic attitude. He made Apple the giant it is today. Personally I love Apple products. I love the simple interface and connectivity between their products. I love airdropping files to my laptop. I love the quality. But this is not without controversy.

When Apple visionary, Steve Jobs, passed away on October 5th 2011. The company seemed to go through a change. Jobs took Apple from a garage to a billion dollar company. Revolutionized the way we use computers and made beautifully designed products. Created what the smartphone is today practically and put tablets on the map. Apple was incredibly innovative in those years. Pushing, moving, and transforming the culture we live in today.

Since then Apple has passed the torch to Tim Cook. Cook has done great things with apple such as the Apple Ipad pro 2018. A powerful tablet with sleek edges and a screen that makes true life look gloomy. The Iphone X changed the iphone design and added wireless charging and a near bezel-less screen and that screen is also OLED. But in spite of these changes and upgrades, Apple has been criticized. For what exactly? The lack of innovation.

The Iphone X,XS, and 11 are horribly similar and only offer slightly faster speeds and cameras throughout each option. When you have competitors innovating with foldable phones and nearly the same performance for cheaper, it makes one think. Should I stop using apple products. The galaxy fold is an incredible device and it also looks like it belongs in a sci-fi book. But as some of you know, The Galaxy fold created by Samsung had a plethora of issues when launching so samsung had to delay production and fix them. One Plus creates budget friendly smartphones with great performance and no “notch”.

Apple’s new Mac pro uses this criticism to soar their computer prouis to new heights. This new Computer is beautifully designed and powerful. Some have scoffed at the Maxed out specs price tag at $52,000. But no one needs that much power and no other competitor offers the number of upgrades Apple offers at the moment. When headlines like the one above appear, that’s not the base model. The base model starts at $5599.

In my opinion, I like Apple and know they will continue to create great products that are simple to use. Their innovation may have stifled but the future is unknown, yet promising.
