One of the most shocking truths of life is the fact that even positive change can be hard to adjust to.

One day, you will get everything that you’ve ever asked for — friendship, love, accomplishments, travel opportunities, new clothes, and better skin.

And all of a sudden, you’ll feel strange about it.

Like somehow the delivery was addressed to the wrong person.

There can be so much positive change in our lives all at once that it feels overwhelming and almost scary.

Ending an old chapter isn’t easy, but starting a new one (even if it’s much better) also isn’t easy.

Let’s go through some examples:

  1. Graduation/starting college/starting a new job/moving — all of these things are blessings, but they give you an opportunity to rebuild your identity that can be stressful. When we’re starting a new chapter, we put a lot of pressure on ourselves because we don’t want to mess it up. We want to do everything perfectly once we get to our new workplace or new school. And thus, we bring anxiety into an otherwise happy situation.
  2. Relationships/finding healthy
