Mornings are the start of your day as well as your work. A good start promises a good end. Making mornings productive brings productivity to work. Having a productive mind compels a person to think outside the box with every approach and comes up with ideas that shine. Incorporating small productive habits at the beginning of the day can make a positive impact on your work.

Here are some 7 habits that will help you make your mornings more productive.

1. Make your bed.

When you wake up, the first thing you should do in the morning is to make your bed. Arrange your pillow, even any ridges on bedsheets, tuck your bedsheets in or leave them out, however, you prefer.

This small habit will strengthen your mind to do the tasks you feel tired to do. It brings discipline and a sense of responsibility to a person’s personality. Once you force yourself to do the hard tasks first thing in the morning, the other difficult tasks throughout the day won’t bother you much. It is the mind that you train, and how you train it determines what you can accomplish with it.

2. Do not use your cell phone after waking up.

The “No Cellphone” Rule is, that you won’t check your cellphone or any other mobile devices when you wake up. That means, no Instagram, no Facebook, no Snapchat, no Twitter, no YouTube, no text messages, and no calls.

If you start your day worrying about what others are doing or has someone contacted you, you will be worrying about it for the rest of your day. This soon becomes an obsessive habit and this obsession will interfere with daily tasks. Every time you decide to start a new task, you will end up finding yourself on the other end of the cell phone. This not only hinders productivity but also attention.

You should only prioritize yourself. Take care of yourself first then see what’s going on on the internet.

3. Eat breakfast.

Some people skip breakfast. Do proper breakfast. You need the energy to do work all day, so munch up as much you can. But let’s be real, whenever we eat too much our stomach becomes heavy and we feel sluggish. We enter the stage of rest and digest.

So, a practical approach would be, to opt for a light breakfast. Eat adequately but eat better, such as pancakes, bacon, mixed fruits, oatmeal, egg-toast, or some veggies. So light breakfast with rich nutrition will be helpful to start your morning a bit productive.

4. Exercise.

Do some light exercise. Let the blood circulate more to your brain. This boost your sympathetic system, which is responsible for your attention, also the system which helps you study the entire night before exams and when you are giving your best.

Exercise helps you become active and improves your concentration. Just don’t do it too hard. You don’t want to want to exhaust yourself even before you start your day unless your goal is to get shredded.

5. Practice Proper Hygiene.

The mistake most people do is that they don’t get themselves refreshed enough to kick-start their productivity. It’s like sea sickness for your productivity. Even when your mind says it is refreshed but your body says no, the ultimate result would be a sea sickness paradox.

“Productivity comes from creativity and creativity only comes when the mind and body are calm”.

If your body is not refreshed, your mind will not feel calm enough to be productive. So, whether you are going out or decided to work from home, always bathe properly, brush your teeth, and put on good clothes.

You won’t perform at your best if you don’t feel refreshed.

6. Do Essentials First.

Do what’s important, first thing in the morning. This is important as when you wake up your mind is refreshed, anything you give it to do, it will do it with more focus and devotion. You can absorb and process more. It is the peak performance time. Your mind will deliver its best.

So, it’s important that you pursue what you desire the most.

For instance, if you are a university student and also work as a part-timer, your main goal is to get a degree. So, the first thing you should do in the morning is to do your assignments or do some online certification courses early in the morning to excel in academics and then get your things ready for your part-time job before leaving for university.

7. Wake Up Early.

Wake up early in the morning. It will give you more time to work, especially more quiet time when everyone’s asleep. We all have heard,

“Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy, and wise”.

This hack is true. Don’t waste any of your time. Put that quiet time to work and excel in your goals. There are many doctors, lawyers, and great people who have used this golden time to achieve their dreams.

In this universe, every successive event is affected by its predecessor. In order to make your mornings more productive, you have to make your nights productive too. Go to bed early to wake up early.
