The Necessity of Daily Coziness
Incorporating coziness into each day for peace, warmth, motivation, and renewal
Today, I woke up to a delightful treat — pouring rain and a gray, overcast sky.
My personal version of heaven.
I love stormy weather, because it allows me to indulge in the coziest of days.
I think that we can all agree that rainy days with a book, cup of tea, and warm blanket are some of the best parts about being human.
Those kinds of days relieve our stress and make us feel warm inside — like there’s nothing missing at all in our soul.
So what if we took the best parts of those days, and took them into every day with us?
What if, from now on, we dedicate ourselves to the art of making each day as blissful as our rainy days?
The benefits of coziness are not limited to rainy days, and the reason why we love our rainy days so much is because they encourage us to do what we’ve needed to do all along — take a little bit of time to sit back, breathe, and enjoy being human.
When we take just a little bit of time every day to pamper ourselves with 10–15 minutes of relaxation in a cozy environment, whether it be in our beds with a blanket or in a hot bubble bath, we recharge our souls.
We are showing ourselves love, so our bodies want to love us back — this translates to better focus, better motivation, and better self-control.
When we don’t take time to intentionally care for ourselves, our bodies will force us to give them relaxation by allowing us to be easily distracted, stress eat, and engage in other self-sabotaging behaviors.
It’s so much easier and more enjoyable to just take care of ourselves.
The art of slow, cozy living is one that will improve all facets of your life.
Physically, you will feel recharged, and mentally, you will feel more peaceful and ready to take on each day.
So take a little bit of time each day to indulge in coziness.
I promise it’ll pay off.
“Everyone can identify with a fragrant garden, with the beauty of a sunset, with the quiet of nature, with a warm and cozy cottage.”
— Thomas Kincade
