The Philosophy of Life in Three Minutes
Here are the feelings, thoughts, and mindsets of four of the world’s greatest philosophers
Each philosopher throughout history has had their own thoughts and feelings about the philosophy of life and each has offered a distinctive view on how we should live and spend our time on this earth.
While we could spend much time covering every great philosopher, here is a quick three-minute highlight of Heidegger, Socrates, Confucius, and Lao Tzu’s views of the world
Heidegger’s Existentialism
According to German philosopher Martin Heidegger, human beings’ existence is what makes us unique and defines our relationships with one another.
It comes from an acknowledgment that we don’t know exactly who we are and therefore cannot be understood through science or reason. Instead, we must exist (or be-in-the-world) before we can answer such questions — it is only by living out our unique identities that we discover who we are and what our lives mean.
