Halloween Candy Ranking
Halloween is the best time of the year because you get to eat unlimited candy all month and no one can say anything bad to you. I can remember walking through my neighborhood as a kid rating which house will give the best candy based on how many decorations they had set up. After a long night of trick-or-treating, and two pillow cases later (I did NOT mess around), my friends and I would come home and on my basement floor dump out all of our candy and look at our loot. This was the trading portion of the evening: and with the trades came the rankings. Which Halloween candy is the best? Here I rank my top 10 favorite Halloween candies:
- Reese’s Peanut butter Cups: No matter what holiday, Reese’s are the best. Chocolate and peanut butter just go so well together. The king of all candy.
- Snickers: Snickers have the key ingredient, caramel. Anything caramel I will eat. Pair it with chocolate..you win snickers.
- M&M’s: A fan favorite. You could never go wrong with a bag or two of the mini sized m&m’s. Easy candies to eat on the walk to the next house.
- Swedish Fish: There is something about these addictive little candy fish that are worth them being a part of my top five. I think its the rush you get every time you eat them and you think about the possible cavities that will come of these. Worth a shot.
- Candy Corn: Rounding out my top five is candy corn. A lot of people hate on candy corn and I do not understand why. They are harmless sugar candy and you can eat a million without realizing it. Classic.
- Twix: Always a good time. You can never go wrong with a nice chocolate and caramel wafer. Not too much caramel sticking to your teeth that you can continue to live and chew.
- Sour Patch Kid: Chocolate has been dominating this list but have to give a shout out to Sour Patch Kid’s and their watermelon counterparts. Just enough sour to make me cringe, and want to grab another pack. They are more of a rare form of candy.
- Hershey’s Bars: The mini Hershey's bars are a classic classic. You can never go wrong with a couple of these bad boys in your pillow case. These were always the one’s my mom took a few of and I wasn’t mad about.
- Kit Kats: An okay one. Nothing too special. They are a common occurrence in the pillow case and I would usually try and trade them for anything listed above.
- Fun Dip: Always something I loved, but it always got taken away from me!! Curse you fun dip and your literal bag of sugar with a sugar stick. Comes in at number 10 because my parents would let me have one and then throw the rest out. (*sighs*)
Queue the song “These are a few of my favorite things.” Here is my ranking of Halloween candies. I felt nostalgic writing these; brought me back to simpler times. I also have to give a huge shout out to the lady who lives in the house at the end of the street that gave out King Size candy bars to everyone. MVP of Halloween. I wish it was still socially acceptable to dress up and knock on doors begging for candy.
