We have all heard this statement before, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” As a kid, you were always told that you needed to eat breakfast, it will set you up for the rest of your day. According to WebMd, breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it kick-starts your metabolism and helps you burn calories throughout the day. Breakfast is also important because it sets you up with the energy that you need for the day.

Breakfast for me is basically a food group. You can have breakfast at any time of day. Breakfast for breakfast, breakfast for lunch, breakfast for dinner. The possibilities are endless! You can never have enough breakfast foods. The best though, is brunch. Brunch is fantastic because you get breakfast and lunch foods all together; that means tater tots and sandwiches!

I digress, back to breakfast. There is so many different options to have for breakfast, there is the healthy route, the “I have time” route, the “I’m a college student” route, and the “i have nothing to eat, lets figure something out”

The healthy route option is the nice organic foods, blueberry pancakes, whole grain waffles, and the much aligned, avocado toast. The “I have time” route, is when you wake up on time and actually have time and motivation to make yourself breakfast. When this happens to me, I usually make scrambled eggs with toast and chocolate milk. Its a classic (its also all i know how to make). The “I’m a college student” route is when you just see whatever is around in the morning and get take anything. Sometimes its clever, like a pop tart (which is my favorite), sometimes it is a granola bar, for when you are just running out of the house. It could be leftover pizza? (have to do what you have to do). Leftover dinner from the night before. The final route, is “I have nothing to eat and lets figure something out.” This is for when there is literally nothing to eat, you are starving, short on time, and not enough money to stop for something. This is when you just throw your leftover food from your fridge and figure it out! The possibilities are endless….depending on what you have in the house.

Breakfast is the best! So many chances to have pancakes and waffles and tater tots and all. Unless you have no time, or a college student. They are one in the same, but you do the best you can with it.
