A long time ago, or so the story goes, before the genesis of Adam and Eve, God made the angels. They were pure and beautiful, the manifestation of God’s glory. But one burned brighter than the others — Lucifer, the Morning-Star. In his incandescence, he was made leader of the thousands of angels, guiding them through in all praise and worship. He did a great job, and he knew it for a fact.

Lucifer became prideful and rationalized that he was more deserving of praise than the creator himself. He was jealous of all the glory that God was given and decided that he would usurp the throne. Gathering a third of all the angels in heaven, he waged a war against God himself. Of course, he and his army were badly defeated. They were disowned and cast out of heaven onto the earth, where Lucifer was stripped of his godly name and given a new identity — Satan.

When Adam and Eve were created and given refuge in the Garden of Eden, there was peace and joy, with Adam holding the God-given authority to rule over the earth. Satan saw an opportunity to seize the power from Adam, and taking the form of a serpent, he slithered into Eden.

Deceiving Eve and instigating the pair to consume the forbidden fruit from the tree of good and evil, Satan seized the power that Adam…
