You stop prioritizing others and start choosing yourself.

You discover that self-sufficiency is far more valuable than depending on someone else.

Blaming others, even when they are at fault, only empowers them, weakens your internal locus of control, and gives it to whoever pretends to be your ally.

When you are abandoned and survive, you find an inner strength you never imagined you possessed.

As the saying attributed to Bob “Smoking” Marley goes, “You don’t know how strong you are until being strong is your only option.”

When you are abandoned and survive, you stop waiting for someone to save you.

You don’t beg; you don’t beg for attention. You awaken the stoic hero in you.

So, listen carefully to this reflection from the other side, from having survived, thanks to the stoicism I have studied and applied for the last ten years.
