Watch Out for Celebrities Like Anthony Hopkins: They Are Wiser Than You Think
“We must dig ditches.”
Sometimes, life turns into a Horror show with a capital H.
And although, as Charles Bukowski used to say, “I’m closer to washing dishes than I am to teaching college classes,” I’d like to give you a little advice to make your life a little less scary.
Something I learned from a tale by the legendary actor of The Silence of the Lambs, Anthony Hopkins (87 years old).
Note: I have allowed myself to version the story to give it more fun :-)
The Shaman and the rain
Once upon a time, a great drought turned the home of a small tribe into a desert.
What was once an Amazonian orchard became Egypt.
The cattle died. The children were dying of dehydration, and their parents were considering eating their in-laws. — But that only partially solved the problem, the famine, not the thirst.
Desperate, the tribe members — normally peaceful and docile people — turned into an angry and potentially violent mob and went to the tribe’s shamans with fire in their eyes (and in their torches) to demand help.
