LeBron James Can Do Anything He Wants Now

Well, it happened. Somehow, LeBron James transformed himself from the most hated man in sports to the lovable underdog, and cheering for him was downright irresistible. Against all odds, down 3–1 to what, at the time, seemed to be the greatest team in NBA history, James rattled off two straight games with 41 points and finished the third with a triple double. He brought a title to the starving city of Cleveland, kept his promise, and cemented his legacy as one of the greatest players of all time.

There’s absolutely nothing left to criticize about him. If you still feel the need to do so, you’re an idiot who doesn’t realize they’re missing out on enjoying the success of the greatest player of our generation. LeBron haters: You played yourself.

After winning Game 7, and accomplishing everything he needed to, James can do whatever he wants now and no one should be able to criticize him. He just beat the campaign, and now he finally has time to do all be side quests.

I personally think he should take the first 2 months of the next season off. The Cavs, assuming they keep Love, could tread water without him, and as long as they make the playoffs, it doesn’t matter what they’re seeded because the Eastern Conference is a dumpster fire. It would give him much needed time to rest, which he desperately needs; in his career, he’s played over a season and a half worth of games more than any other player over that span. If LeBron sits the first two month, I think the Cavs are the favorite to repeat.

I don’t think he should do it next season (Personally, I don’t think he should ever do it), but I don’t see it being such a huge deal if he leaves Cleveland again. He did what he said he would do, and I honestly think if he left in 2–3 years after a few more title runs to play one season with his boys Melo, Wade, and CP3, no one could really blame him. I don’t even think Cleveland fans would be too upset; he brought them their title. James has earned the right to do whatever he wants.
