Summer Beach Body Is Postponed Until Further Notice

It was always an overrated concept

May has always been a horrible month for women’s self-esteem.

As we swap our heavy winter jackets and puffy sweaters for dresses and tops, we suddenly realise it’s only two months until summer. And we take a good look in the mirror, and it hits us: our bodies are far from being “beach body” ready. Oh no.

We immediately google crazy workout routines and strict detox diets to get that toned, bikini physique we’ve been conditioned to believe is the ONLY acceptable body shape to have on a beach.

The thing is — it’s not.

The term “summer beach body” is just one of many things coined to make us feel insecure about ourselves. And once we feel like that, we’re just easy prey to all the social media fitness gurus and dietoholics that want to sell us their newest book, webinar or useless product.

But for over a year now, it’s safe to say a lot of us stopped caring about something so trivial and underrated. We have bigger worries. You know, with the global pandemic going on and all.

So let’s just boycott the term altogether. Let’s postpone it until further notice. I’m sure we will all be better off without it anyway.
