Winter is undoubtedly the King season of cozy, but what about the other three seasons? There are things you can do through each season to keep the cozy feel year-round. Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, cozy can be in them all.

Winter is filled with blankets surrounding us in a nest of comfort and coziness. It is filled with tons of hot cocoa and hot steamy meals that simmered all day on the stove. It is the time when we turn off our lights and live by candlelight. This season is warmth even though the temperature dips down outside. We watch our favorite movies again and again. We put on jazz on the player and let our minds unwind and in the slowness of the season, we begin to relax. We rest, we quiet our minds, and we breath deep. The cold seeps into our lungs and we relish the pureness of the frigid air. Winter is darkness early; it is the time to consider a new hobby or perhaps to allow ourselves to visit friends in their homes. Perhaps a time to take up a hobby like photography or pottery, or another hobby that interests you. This is the time when the world slows down and we can reach out to others and attempt new things. This season is soft and will catch us should we trip. This season holds our hand and guides us through the dark.

Spring is the renewal season. All that died during the winter starts to bloom again. The snow begins to melt, and we start going back outside more. This season is still slow-paced. It allows us to catch our breath before we race back into the world. It is a season for stretching our limbs, starting to take walks again outside and linger in the light breeze on our arms and in our hair. We begin this season with riding our bikes, racing through puddles, and laughing at how wet we got. This is a season of new adventures. The light returns for longer periods of time. We begin again, we are regenerated and eager to stretch our legs again. We hear the birds singing and we feel light-hearted and full of new joy and hope.

Summer is vacation season. It is full of travel and backseat games. It is hot and sticky and best celebrated by the sea. It is beach balls, floaties, and snacks while sitting in the sand. It is travel and adventure. It is the season full of ice cream trucks and playing hide and seeks. We travel in RV’s, station wagons and minivans. We pack everything we can. We hear, she touched me, or he touched me over and over, but when everyone looks back, they will remember diving into the ocean for the first time this year. They will remember bonfires on the beach, food out of food trucks, and sharing towels because theirs is always wet. Summer calls for shovels and pails for the beach. It calls for suntan lotion and jellyfish stings. Summer has ups and downs. Excitement and exhaustion. Summer is the perfect mix of remembering old trips and sharing new adventures with the ones we love.

Autumn is my favorite season. It is full of change. Change in clothes, change in leaves, change in what we eat, what books we decide to read, it is filled with candy and pumpkins and knocking on strangers' doors. It is costumes and lollipops. It is sweaters and warm socks. Autumn brings a whisper. It says look at all I have done without being boisterous. Now though it is now bragging. It is simply putting on a show for everyone to see. It showcases reds, yellows, and oranges. It is a season of gentle change, so subtle you do not even notice it till it is gone. It is a season for leaf raking and jumping into the piles. It is spiced drinks and cakes. It is a cacophony of sounds and smells mixed. It is the season of balance. It grounds us and lets us soar. It is a magical time for sure.
