Marvel’s hidden ability

Avengers Infinity War

• SPOILERS GRANTED- PLEASE AVERT EYES IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN*

There are some things in life that go beyond our complete understanding such as why Avenger’s Infinity War the movie has become a hate or love film by dedicated Avenger fans. I personally love the film but not for the same reason most dedicated fans would. Its not for the pretty pictures, or the fact that they supposedly killed off half the Marvel characters. Nope. Due to Marvel being apart of Disney we are starting to see the idea of writing for money versus writing for meaning. Before I start writing this post I would like to announce this film is not a film people wrote for the benefit of the big bucks and here is my theoretical theories of why.

Thanos and the Soul Stone

First foremost our world in Avenger’s gets flipped the second Thanos reaches where the soul stone is with Grimora. Here is one theory that isn’t out or being shed around because people only see what is before them and what’s not hidden in textual language.

We know Red Skull is banished on the same planet the soul stone is. Why? Captain America would not be happy if he found this out, nor would it be a pleasant union. But he is guarding the stone which means he has come to face his demons. But why would Red Skull allow Thanos to cross for the Soul Stone? Even as a bad guy he would rather not see the Avenger’s again no matter the cost, nor are his reasons to want the Avengers dead the same as Thanos.

What we are told here is the catalyst to every event afterwards I think. Personally this theory makes sense to me. You must sacrifice what you love most to get the soul stone. The trick here is that he believes its Grimora. But the reality is …it can’t be. Why is he hunting for all the soul stones? Why does he want to kill off half the population of every planet? Its for peace and because of home. So, what does Thanos love the most? His home.

Theoretically, what we see is the moment Thanos thinks he got the soul stone, and what the Soul Stone is showing him. Here is a simple trick of why we are seeing the complete power of what the soul stone does. It is supposed to test your soul and see if it can handle the power the stone has.

He has the reality stone already but the problem here is that the Stone is testing what he is made of. What he would do with the stone and what he would feel after completing his goal. Hence, we have the scene where Grimora as a child asks “ What did it cost you?” and he says “ Everything.” right after checking his hand to see if he had the Soul Stone. Hmmmm…Have we been tricked?

Thanos: In time, you will know what it’s like to lose. To feel so desperately that you’re right. Yet to fail all the same. Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives.

This theory is improved when Doctor Strange says “ Now we are in it for the end game.” Which means whatever plan they came up with in the 1001 ways to beat Thanos there was only one. I am banking that the one way they beat Thanos is by banking on the fact that he does not get the Soul Stone in the first place. But then why at the end do we see everyone dying? Its because we are still seeing events in the time line of the Soul Stone.

But then why call in Captain Marvel? Theoretically, I think Captain Marvel gets called during the new York interlude where Doctor Strange is fighting. We again are still only seeing what Marvel wants us to see. This theory is far fetched but it makes sense. Sort of.

This is taking into the account that the soul stone’s ability happened right before he sacrifices Grimora. This is of course banking on the theory that Guardians of the Galaxy continues its series.

Another Theory

Mantis. All I have to say is this theory was told to me by my boyfriend. I gotta give him the credit he deserves. This theory is also built on that one shot to beat Thanos. It involves the moment Mantis gets to grip Thanos’s head. In that moment, Mantis manages to to feel his emotions and the others get the Gauntlet. They then twist reality and see what Thanos would do with the Gauntlet by looking into his soul.

Its a short theory. One that explains why Loki, and Gramora would not return to life. But would in one aspect help to defeat him. But again there is only one chance they have at defeating Thanos. This may be one theory but it may not be the correct one.

LASTLY

Maybe the one chance of winning is by losing it first to get ahold of Captain Marvel. Its possible Doctor Strange saw this. Its also extremely possible that everything in this movie is just one moment that Doctor Strange goes into the future. We will never know.

This is what I think Marvel is amazing at. Marvel may seem like its producing films for money on the surface. But if you dove into it the film does a beautiful job leaving us with unfulfilled promises, and brilliant questions. I wouldn’t change this film.

Among the many things Marvel does …the idea that we can list possibilities at all is great. Not everything is as it seems.
