“We learn our belief systems as very little children, and then we move through life creating experiences to match our beliefs.
Look back in your own life and notice how often you have gone through the same experience.” -Louise L. Hay

Beliefs are great. They ground us. Support us, inspire us and make us believe in the possibility of things we aspire towards. To a great extent our beliefs form an important part of our identity.

Yet what if our beliefs are doing us more harm than good? Those limiting beliefs are nothing but self-sabotage.

In the words of Henry Ford,

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t — you’re right.”

Therefore, choosing the right belief is imperative.

If you’re wondering what your limiting beliefs are then they are most likely hiding in the areas where you’re producing results that you don’t want. If you don’t already know, you may want to ask yourself these questions to find them:

What are the results you’ve produced in the various areas of your life?

Where/Why are your results not in alignment with what you really want to be, do or have?

What area of your life have you really tried to improve but, no matter what, things just didn’t get better?

In all likelihood, what you say to yourself to justify why it isn’t working out for you is a limiting belief.

Now that you have dragged some of them out of the closet, here’s the best part.

Beliefs can be changed.

Just like beliefs we held to be true previously are not necessarily true to date. Like Santa Clause or the Tooth Fairy. As a child we believed them to be true. But what about now? Today? Do you still believe the same?

Similarly limiting beliefs can be changed. They are not reality. Set in stone. Reality is a relative construct.

There are various techniques and easy to follow steps which can help you change a limiting belief to an empowering one. The internet is a huge resource for the same. Try tools which resonate with you and are doable from you’re at. I’d be glad to help in any way too. Just leave me a comment below.

Remember,

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” — Wayne Dyer
