‘Don’t judge a book by its cover’ or ‘What you see, is what you get.’

Which one is you?

Some of us open up from the word go. Some others take their time.

We may choose not to be open up with people we don’t fully know or trust because to be open is to share your inner person, weaknesses included and that information may be uncomfortable to share with individuals you barely know.

Openness is making our outer world as similar to our inner world as possible.

It is important to let our individuality stand for itself, to let others understand how we think, how we feel and what we believe. Or even disclose our special (and not so special) traits and qualities.

In today’s day and age, social media allows us to paint a picture of our lives that we choose to showcase. Yet how many of us truly know each other?

Being honest and open is a kind of invitation to others. What you share about yourself should encourage others to do the same. To feel comfortable to be themselves with you. No airs, no pretenses. A genuine relationship develops thereafter. One that may take time but is long lasting and meaningful.

Be congreunt. Be authentic. Be your true self — Mahatma Gandhi

So if we were to fast track time…
What will I know about you only after we’ve known each other for a year?
