‘Testing Business Ideas’ book cover

This is the last book I’ve read from the Strategyzer crew. Excited as I was, as soon as I heard that this book was coming, I subscribed myself to the waiting list and pre-ordered it. Now it’s difficult to think about creating live experiments and don’t check this book.

Products and services are never done. Every aspect can be improved by building, testing, and learning. But while the theory is easy to remember, the struggle is to know which kind of test do when. This is when this book comes handy: a field guide for rapid experimentation in full color and with excellent examples to check out.

It also contains 44 experiments, well-defined, and ready for action. Also worth mentioning is the bundles they’ve created for different kinds of businesses or project maturity. ’Testing Business Ideas’ is incredibly useful to plan, execute and analyze the results of experiments to drive growth and refinement in any sort of business. A sip:

‘Children naturally experiment and iterate their way through problems. Once they begin to progress through traditional schooling, experimentation becomes less and less of a practice outside of science class. The way students are graded, judged, and tested means they have to find the single right answer. In life, as it is in business, there is rarely a single right answer. So over time people optimize for being right, instead of making progress because they’ve accustomed to being penalized for being wrong. It’s no surprise that children raised in the style of educational system become adults who often struggle with the idea go being wrong. The culture of rewarding who is right and penalizing who is wrong extends into their businesses. They’ve been conditioned to look for that one answer.’
