While figuring out what the next version of the PM Library could look like and therefore interviewing a lot of our users I was re-reading this book. The first time I have read this book is almost 7 years ago. For me it’s the best “introduction to product management”-book out there. Dan Olsen describes perfectly what it takes to build a digital product from scratch. Interviewing users, experimenting towards product-market-fit and experimenting with MVPs all the way to a successful business. This book has it all. It’s a great resource for everyone who wants to get into product management or wants to re-read some of the basics.
A sip:
‘When you first start off trying to solve a problem, the first solutions you come up with are very complex, and most people stop there. But if you keep going, and live with the problem and peel more layers of the onion off, you can oftentimes arrive at some very elegant and simple solutions. Most people just don’t put in the time or energy to get there.’
