You left this world in a flash —
Early morning. I was sleeping.
I woke up, startled, confused;
I knew something was wrong.

White light pulses in a frozen room
devoid of genuine soulful laughter.
Dreams float inside a smoky sky,
turning grey with stormy clouds.

I hear murmurs and kind whispers
of angels taking you to the hereafter.
Thinking of the massive black void,
you left behind sailing to other shores.

Rose petals on a wooden plaque
slowly descending into darkness.
A lonely cry behind my crimson door,
sans hope, sans mojo, sans everything.

Withered landscapes and empty fields,
your smile of happiness on the farm,
memories and monochrome photos,
is all that I have left of you.
