Time Bomb

Do we take time for ourselves in our busy lives?

Time, ticks teasingly.

Time; a slave driver
a horse cart wobbling out of control
a spiral going faster and faster on life’s roads.

Time, a pressure pot;
Too much to do, right now,
time is ticking, wait, it can’t!

Running,
always running:
here to there,
and everywhere,
feeling like you going nowhere,

no time for me, and you,

always chasing a to-do list.
A gobble lunch at my work desk,
enslaved to a ticking time bomb.
Clocks chime mockingly, giggling
at our stress, and all that must be done.

Why not take a proper break?

Why not take a break,
why not control your time,
why not enjoy some quiet time —

Why not?
