Letting Go

A Poem

A man is leaning on a tree. The soil is quite dry, and the tree is gigantic. There are no other trees around it, and only one big tree grows in the middle of nowhere.

Hauntingly echoing in your heart,
Every lobe of your being longed to part.
Lingering sorrow seeps deep into your soul,
Life is a river that endlessly flows.
Long-held secrets that you can no longer keep,
Is goodbye the only answer left for you to reap?
Once-bright words spoken, now forgotten and bleak,
Echoes of love and laughter fade from the peak.
Outwardly you may seem calm and composed,
Yet inside your mind is eternally…
