Slowdive released its first track since 1995 last week and it’s made the rounds of the blogs already. It pulls off a rare feat for a reunion: it sounds like the old band while also managing to sound fresh, modern, and, most importantly, just really damn good.

At The Poleax, we’ll post tracks some evenings and while we’ll usually try to find things that haven’t blown up already, I can’t think of a song that’s come out in the last 17 days that’s made me this happy to have my headphones on, so at the end of our first day — here’s some Slowdive.
