Just two weeks later, we’re going back to Lee Ritenour because this one has been calling out to me all week: a bonafied and utterly under-appreciated party jam. “Promises, Promises” has all the markers of a Friday night yacht banger— funky, driving, and with the right balance of earnestness and cheese. Oh, and it’s got a sax solo. Yeah.
