Big thanks to Naples City Council for passing a sufficiently stringent fertilizer ordinance that includes a calendar-based rainy season ban and a 4-pound cap on the amount of nitrogen applied to turf!

These critical aspects of a local fertilizer ordinance will help prevent excess nutrients and pollutants from entering our waterways and harming humans and wildlife alike.

This major step forward demonstrates the City’s willingness to be a part of the solution to the current water quality crisis, and we thank both Council and staff for their hard work and direction on this important issue.

Large-scale water restoration projects and strong, enforceable regulations are important, but everyone can take action to improve the quality of local waterways. Click here for some ways YOU can protect our water and wildlife habitat!
