Doug Burgum’s Gaslighting Shows He’s Deep in the MAGA Cult
Former N. D. governor knows the way to Trump’s heart is through lies
I don’t know much about former North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, a recent GOP presidential candidate, but I don’t like him.
Burgum was a candidate in the GOP primary who went quickly by the wayside because he’s somewhat normal and has the personality of a cold fish. GOP voters long ago determined they like crazy, not normal.

But now Burgum is allegedly in the running to be former President Donald Trump’s vice-president, so that means he’s gone fully in on the MAGA cult. Part of being a MAGA cult devotee is gaslighting and propaganda.
In a recent interview on Fox News Channel (FNC,) Burgum denounced President Joe Biden as a dictator. And he doubled down on this on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Burgum’s comment earned this mild rebuke from CNN’s Caitlan Collins.
“I understand you don’t like President Biden’s policies on immigration or student loans,” she said. “But, respectfully, you’re calling the democratically elected president a dictator.”
