Finally! Judge Threatens to Jail Trump if He Doesn’t STFU!
But even this judge only responded after Trump’s threats got a little too close to “home.”
On Friday, Judge Arthur Engoron told Donald Trump’s lawyers that he and they had just about reached the end of their rope…and that it may soon be time to rein in Trump for violating the judge’s gag order in his New York civil fraud case. To illustrate his point, Judge Engoron fined the disgraced, one-term, twice-impeached, quadruple-indicted ex-president $5,000 for failing to comply with the gag order.
Realizing that such a nominal fine only amounted to chump-change to Trump (and his rabid acolytes who will surely end up paying that money), the good judge warned Trump and co. of “possibly imprisoning him” if he does it again.
As per CNN, so sayeth the judge:
Donald Trump has received ample warning from this Court as to the possible repercussions of violating the gag order. He specifically acknowledged that he understood and would abide by it. Accordingly, issuing yet another warning is not longer appropriate; this Court is way beyond the ‘warning’ stage.
The judge’s original gag order demanded that Trump take down a defamatory, denigrating, and derogatory post about the judge’s numero uno law…
