Ohio City Cancels 4th of July Because Killer-Cops Won’t Stop Killing Black People

Eight Akron, Ohio policemen have been put on paid “administrative leave” after firing up to one hundred shots at and killing a black motorist, city and police officials said yesterday, Friday, July 1.
Snow plows and other heavy trucks, usually tasked to clear the streets of winter’s wrath, have been deployed as barriers in anticipation of street protests by black citizens and others in this mid-sized Ohio town. The big trucks have been positioned downtown principally around the city’s police department headquarters.
“We are utilizing various tools and such in the event barricades are needed,” said the cops.
This latest victim of killer-cop violence is one Jayland Walker, 25, a black man. Walker was busy on his route as a DoorDash delivery driver when Akron’s finest put their lights on him. When he did not immediately pull over and stop, but in fact and instead, sped up in an apparent attempt to shake them off, the chase was on.
The attempted stop was prompted by a, so far, unspecified traffic violation, according to an Akron Police Department statement.
