The sight of Priti Patel, UK Home Secretary, standing on the beach at Dover, commanding the refugees and immigrants to go back home, may have comical shades of King Canute. But King Canute did it to prove his courtiers wrong, (he couldn’t turn back the sea). Priti Patel would do it to prove her courtiers right. She can stop refugees and immigrants landing in the UK.
