Riverside Hosts Raucous Anti-Trump Protests
Demonstrators vent fury at Trump, Musk, DOGE
I was on the ground at the Hands Off protests in Riverside last weekend. And it was a raucous, well-populated event.
The event was held in downtown Riverside and both sides of Market street and the intersections of University and Market and Market and Mission were covered with loud protesters.
Judging by what I saw at the protest, the Resistance is alive and kicking and will only get stronger as the economy worsens and people begin to feel the effects of government cuts.
Protesters marched, carried American flags and held up creative signs. The signs were stridently against government cuts, oligarchy and President Donald Trump’s threat to democracy. Some of their signs attacked the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE,) led by Elon Musk and Trump.
Musk has been given free reign to radically slash government programs in the name of efficiency, even though he gets billions in government contracts. Also, according to Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas,) Trump has already spent more than $20 million on golfing trips!
Signs included ones that labeled Musk a Nazi, complete with a picture of him doing a sieg heil salute. Others read “Trump is a Fascist” and another read “The…
