Most Americans don’t spend the better part of 18 months studying the behavior patterns of Russians. Most Americans probably didn’t invest time reading the Mueller report. Sure, maybe some caught a soundbite here or there, but largely considered it dull, tedious legalese. And when the moment finally came for Mueller to publicly testify, they called it “a big old nothing burger.”

Hell, many Americans still have no idea that the real title wasn’t even ‘The Mueller Report,’ but rather “Report On The Investigation Into Russian Interference In The 2016 Presidential Election — though, “The Mueller report” rolls off the tongue easier — and many folks merely repeat the Trump camp’s words verbatim, calling the Russian election meddling “a hoax.”

But that specific subject of Russian interference (and sort of by default) Russian behavior, is exactly what interested me the most. I am someone who spent the better part of 18 months reading and learning about, absorbing everything I could about Russian culture and behavior.

In my mind, I had just cause.
