At the time of this writing, Election Day is two days past, and after what seemed to be a repeat of 2016, it seems more likely that former Vice-President Joe Biden will be the President-Elect of the United States—determining that eventuality may take hours, days, weeks, or even months to be finalized. The desperation that motivates Donald Trump requires him to utilize every maneuver, without regard to the likelihood of success, to stay in the White House for four more years.

Biden must claim any of the remaining undeclared states, while Trump must have them all. Biden is ahead in Nevada, which would be enough, assuming no miracle reverses Arizona’s votes into the Trump camp. Biden is within a few thousand votes in Georgia, almost certain to overtake Trump in Pennsylvania, and a long shot in North Carolina, but those votes will hardly be needed. I’ll give Trump Alaska, whose three votes won’t come into play.
I will go out on a rather sturdy limb and presume that after recounts in Wisconsin, maybe Georgia, Nevada, and whatever states Trump’s lawyers can…
