President Donald Trump is a sociopath who only thinks of himself, and that’s one of the reasons he will pardon his old friend, convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.

The Supreme Court just removed Maxwell’s last major legal lifeline. The justices declined to hear her appeal of a 2021 sex-trafficking conviction, leaving intact a 20-year federal sentence. This means her only hope of freedom lies with the White House.

And Trump left the door open. Asked about a potential pardon, he said he’d “have to take a look” and would speak with the Justice Department. “I’m allowed to do it, but it’s something I have not thought about,” Trump said.

That doesn’t sound like a no to pardoning a woman who recruited high school girls to be raped and sex trafficked.

Trump has been surprisingly sympathetic toward Maxwell. In 2020, soon after her arrest, Trump told reporters, “I just wish her well.”
