Political reporters profit from covering Trump train wreck
A little more than two months into Trump administration 2.0. and it’s already started. That is the constant string of books by insiders who have a scoop on the Trump White House/campaign.
The latest is “Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump’s Return to Power,” by Axios reporter Alex Isenstadt, which is a tale of Trump’s vengeance-driven campaign.
I used to jump at these books and read most that came out through Audible. I read books by Michael Wolfe, Bob Woodward, Miles Taylor and several political reporters that scandalized us with stories of Trump’s disorganized White House, his inability to read and his bungling of COVID. I read so many that they became a blur.
I realized I had an addiction, and I was part of the problem. The market for these books is saturated. There’s no point in me buying another Trump expose because they all say the same thing. Yes, Trump White House 2.0 will be corrupt and disorganized yet again. That’s not news.
