Stephen Miller, the former Trump speechwriter who came up with the family separation plan that put brown children in cages, has just been announced as Trump’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy. Much of his job will be focused on the plan to deport between 11 and 20 million immigrants, most of them brown and Black.

Many in the targeted group are here illegally, while some have legal status in the United States that Trump would revoke. Immigrants from European countries like Slovenia have little to fear, even if they work illegally or get so-called “Genius Visas” reserved for degreed individuals in specific fields and fashion models who are “of distinguished merit and ability.” I’m unsure whether posing nude qualifies in either category; you’ll have to ask Melania.

To his credit, Stephen Miller didn’t suddenly change his values to fit this administration. His racism and beliefs in white supremacy go back to his high school days. Throughout his childhood until completing middle school. One of Miller’s best friends was Jason Islas, a Hispanic youth. They bonded over their love of Star Trek. During the summer before entering Santa Monica High School, Miller stopped returning Islas’s calls, finally calling back to let him know…
