Who Cares About Research, Trump ‘Feels’ Tylenol Is Bad!
President’s Quack Collective Links Autism to Tylenol
The Trump administration announced on Monday that there is a link between the use of Tylenol among pregnant women and autism. But I would suggest everybody take this with a large grain of salt. Trump made this announcement alongside his secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a well-known anti-vaccination conspiracy theorist, and TV quack Dr. Mehmet Oz. Oz has been sued and denounced by his colleagues for pushing snake oil cures.
“This is based on what I feel,” said Trump during the press conference.
Trump and Kennedy Versus Science
However, neither Trump nor Kennedy is a scientist. And not only that, they don’t believe in the scientific method. Trump is a master of spin and Kennedy is a conspiracy theorist, and that’s a huge problem when you deal with science.
Science doesn’t care about spin or your opinion — it cares about facts. The scientific method is study, research, and forming an opinion based on those facts. Neither of these men believe in that, but they do believe in playing to anti-vaxxers, who have long looked for a quick fix to the prolonged mystery of autism.
